Norton Anti-Spam 2004 does not work with Outlook 2002

Hi guys,

I have Norton Internet security 2004 on my Windows XP Home, PC.

Sometimes (about 2 on 10 occasions), the anti-spam is not visible, when I start up Outlook 2002. The icons are not there, as well as the program is not active ( = no spam is filtered).

Is this a common problem...? I had the same problem before the total re-format (for another reason) I did one month ago. I run Windows XP Home.

The problem is not always there... only on some occasions. I then need to close and startup Outlook several times, before the Anti-Spam will work normally.

I read the following about the Norton Anti-spam software which

Pros: When it was functioning, it seemed to be an effective tool. Neat and clean interface.

Cons: Upon installation, AntiSPAM quickly started filtering unwanted email. But within hours, it started crashing Outlook (I use Outlook 2002). Even after several reboots and a re-install, AntiSPAM froze Outlook within minutes of each restart. Removing AntiSPAM removed the crashes, which I conclude to mean AntiSPAM was the problem. There is a post on Symantec's site - as of 10/6/03 - that they are aware that AntiSPAM is crashing during a specific event, but have no remedy and are working on a fix.
