Temporary Internet Folder

Hi.

Something has been slowing up my computer lately. I run Windows XP and i just discovered that my OS drive almost was full. I started deleting files and discovered that my Temporary Internet Folder (TIF) contained over 1.5 GB of files. I deleted all of them (at least i thought i did), and checked the folder again: It still contained over 1 GB of data in approx. 800 files. The show hidden files option is switched on, i have run disc defrag and error checked the disc.
Anyone know what this could be?

Have you run Disk Cleanup?
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup

Disk Cleanup lists only files in your Temp folder that are more than one week old. If you want to completely clean this folder out you’ll need to do it manually. Close all running programs and type %temp% in the Run dialog box; from the resulting Windows Explorer window, delete everything you find. Some files are not available for deletion until you reboot.



Also, to determine whether or not you have a virus, there are several free on-line virus scanners available. Try one or all of these:
