Jpegs

Within the last couple of days, when I try to download pictures form a website that I know are Jpegs, my system only allows me the option of saving them as Bitmaps, It used to default to Jpeg and have Bitmap on the drop down menu. Has anyone else had this happen and does anyone know how to resolve it. I have tried reinstalling windows and it doesn't cure it.

Hi confusedfool

Try clearing the TIF's. It really is a band aid measure, however it usually works.

After you have done this, shutdown Internet Explorer and the job should be done.....

Tools > Internet Options > General > Delete Files > 'check' Delete all offline content and Ok your way out.

Another thing you might try:

In the Downloaded Program Files folder on your hard disk, remove the files that are listed as either Unknown or Damaged. To do so:

1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2. Click the General tab.
3. Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
4. Click View Objects.
5. In the Status column, (right-click) remove the files that are listed as either Unknown or Damaged.
6. When you are prompted to confirm the removal, click Yes.
7. Close the Downloaded Program Files window, and then click OK twice.
