USB ports + digital camera

I am currently running windows xp professional. I had just bought a digital camera. I followed all the instrustions. and the last one is to plug in the camera and pick the disk drive mode. After that the instrustions say another drive shpould appear in the mycomputer mostly under an e: drive. Well i have an e drive already in use i have the a drive for the floppy, the C:\ is the main harddrive, the D:\ is the secondary HD, the E is my cd rom, and the F;\ is my cd burner. The dviece is not showing up. I thought it ewas the usb port not work but i had my printer hooked up to it a while back, then i disconnected it. The digital camera wont show up anywhere thats basically my problem in a large nutshell.
Thanks in advanced everyone.

Sounds like it should have showed as G drive. Give us more detail on the type of camera and its software.

I don't have any experience with that Camera but I have a suggestion that may work. I have no idea how good the drive for this camera has been written so that said you may want to free up the "e" drive letter and see if the camera will pick that up (Driver may want to first drive letter after the HDs)

so go to computer management page and change the drive letter for you CD ROM to "H" , then reboot and follow it by connecting the USB camera to the computer.

Let us know if that will work

cheers

Enter your CMOS setting to see whether the USB features are disabled. You must make it Enabled!
After connect your digital camera, please press F5 for refreshing your hardware list. Sometimes it can find you DC.
Finished these and can't find it, please contact your computer manufacture ^_^
