Soft shutdown problems
I have recently upgraded my system as follows:
Celeron 700:
Voodoo 3 Graphics card:
512 mb PC133 RAM
running WXP Pro
to
Intel Celeron P4 2.8Ghz 800mhz
Nvidia Graphics Card
512 Mb SDRam
In the first instance when I switched system on, got a error message "NTLDR" not present.
So I thought to load from floppy disc Mindows 3.1 as the system continued to refuse to load windows XP from the CD returning error message
"Unable to load windows XP from DOS"
I restarted machine and pressed F11 and selected option to boot from CD
I used both a boot CD and my WXP CD and completed the re-install of WXP successfully.
However when I now perform a soft shutdown the machine will stop temporarily and restart itself. Furthermore after the restart has completed it then attempts to run Internet Explorer.
Could anyone give some advice as to what I can do to avoid reformatting the hard drive?
Thanks
Stedroy
