I dont quite understand if you have 2 partitions or not. If you have 2, then there is no prob if the install files are on D:
If you only have 1...
After the format stage has completed the installation files will be gone so you will be stuck. the setup routine will not partition the drive.
You must do this yourself before setup starts using a partition manager. (to avoid losing the files).
If you dont have a partition manager, get a mate to copy the files to his drive, then partition yours... then copy the files back to your 2nd partition.
