Lost Games

Hi,
I Have Winxp home,
version2002
sp1
pentium4 1.5ghz 256ram
Sony Vaio

Recently I removed MSN6 and Windows messenger with the
add/remove windows components option thats in add/remove programs. Now I find that the games xp came with are missing,
(solitaire, mshearts, mindsweeper, spider solitaire, and freecell, pinball ), not the internet games. I have tried a search on all of these but to no avail. Found a few information files but no games. I have tried re-installing MSN6 and messenger but still no games. I found listed in the add/remove windows components under accessories and utilities if I click details there is a box for these games but this is all checked,I tried clicking next anyway for installation but still no games. I had system restore tuned off at the time and re-installing winxp is not an option. Can anyone help please? thanks hdb

Re: Lost Games

lol, do you really need those games? Is it really a tragedy to lose them? If you love them so much, you can always reformat your machine.

have you tried?

possibly the games got deleted and windows thinks they are still installed

have you tried un-checking the games box, and running through the rest of the process, that should make windows see they're gone. Then then you can go back in and checkthe games box and go through the install thing (it will ask for your windows xp cd)

Hopefully that will fix your problem
