Unhappy Windows Media Player at Startup

Windows mEdia Player always pops up at startup, and I made sure that the .exe file wasn't in the Startup folder, does anyone know why?

Thanks,
Arigoto

Try WinPatrol http://www.winpatrol.com/ (free) You might be able to disable in the Startup Programs tab. Or under the Services tab.

media file extension

What is the file extension on your media file type that you are trying to get media player to play. Do you have real player on your system as well? IF your answer is yes, can you play the media using real player instead.

Have you try associating your media file extension type with the media player application? Associating is making sure that your system knows that when you want to listen to a media file it knows that it has to launch media player.

This is done in explorer under tools and file folder.
Click file type tab the system will list file type extensions
Once you find your file extension click the advanced tab to \
associate the media player with that file extension.

Just a thought...
