Win Service Pack & Direcpc
Hello,
Just revamped my computer with Win XP Pro & downloaded the service pack ..... some things started working again, BUT my Direcpc 3.0 did not .... support with Direcpc (after many days on the phone with them) said it was the service pack screwing things up & it might be a while before they can work around it. They said it was screwing with all the newer virsions also .... said to uninstall the service pack.
Only thing is as I downloaded it (the service pack) it ask if I wanted to save any of the old files & I said "no". Now I also noticed there seems to be three files associated with the service pack & wonder if I could just delete one or more. But since deleting ...... should I just try overwritting the XP files ... or just wait a while until Direcpc gets up to speed, (Gosh dial-up is So slow)
XP is so different I feel I have gone back to my first computer & my knowledge base is starting over.
Also all my Direcpc e-mail accounts do not work as they should, but I just got new accounts with my ISP that do work. I did notice in the FAQ's that there was a SMTP fix .... I wonder if that is my problem as far as my ability to send e-mail though those accounts .... I can recieve, but can't send. It is believed server spam ware might be the problem.
I just need recommendations on how to go about fixing the problems that are plaguing my system with XP.
Thanks,
Lone Star Reb
