Windows Media Player Streaming

Recently i have been unable to stream any videos using wmp. First it just came up with connecting... then "Ready"
I discovered i had not enabled the "COnnect to the net" tickbox. So i did. Now when i try streaming (this happens in embedded sites) it will say connecting then i get "a programme error has occured" this gives me the usual send error report crap. It will crash in IE in firefox and opera. I think it all comes down to installing WMP 10 beta the other month. It wont let me remove it and i cant delete the DIr as it states wmpband.dll is in use. Even i safe mode. When i install wmp 9 on top it still loads like wmp10. Its driving me insane!! help

Try removing all references to WMP from the Registry first, then check running processes in Task Manager and end any that refer to WMP, then see if the program's folder can be deleted.

Ive loaded up in safe mode and looked and the running processes. all are as supposed to be.
