default double click speeds?

Hello people,

Ive got an annoying problem on XP Pro where the default mouse double click speed is set to maximum upon startup (ie so its impossible to double click), so I have to change it everytime I boot up. Is there a means to alter the default setting eg in the registry, or just make XP remember how I want it.

Any help would be gratefully received!
