Active X security mesage when opening email in Outlook Express 6 in WIN XP

Hi,

As a new person using Windows XP I have a problem that I can't seem to sort out.

The following message comes up when I open an email in Outlook Express 6 on WindowsXP ...........

"Your current Security settings prohibit running Active X controls on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly".

What should happen is that background music should appear when the email is opened. Within the email there should also appear a Realplayer box that allows you to start the music again.

I've been into IE properties and checked that all Active X boxes within the Security Tab are enabled. I've even set the default access to Low as well but with no success in hearing the music.

I have also gone to the URL address where this background music should be heard when you open the page. However, no music is heard and there is no error message that appears yet I can read the text that appears on the webpage.

I can successfully send the webpage to Outlook Express 5 on my WIN ME system and when I open the email the music plays. I can also on said Win ME system go to the URL webpage and listen to the music being played.

Has anyone any idea's as to how I can sort out this Active X message on Win XP ?

Regards,

Stixbri

Hi dumdum,

I've looked at the site that you gave the url for but I can't see any message pertaining to the one I've listed.

Did you just point me to the site to take a look or have you actually seen a similiar post with a resolution ?

Regards,

Stixbri

Microsoft has an "unsafe list" to protect you from hurting yourself while opening e-mail. (see Knowledge Base Article 291369 for the complete list).
