hi, needs some help if any one is willing to give it to me.
I'm running a,lets call it an unauthorized version of xp pro all was cool and then i downloaded sp1a form an idependant site installed it and all seemed cool.last night i decided to let windows scan my pc fo updates and lo and behold it said my registration key was invalid. two questions.
1)does the service pack enable microsoft to identify unauthorized versions of o/s?
2)will m/s be able to track me down (i am not on a static ip address)?
before i installed sp1a i could scan and d/l updates so it makes me think that the sp1a has something to do with the whole thing.
whenever i connect to the internat sygate comes up with the following warning/error message

what is ntsokernel trying to do and am i stopping it by blocking it access using sygate. any help would be much appreciated and i will probably go and by a legit version of xp
