Random Process

I need help with a process issue on XP. Recently my process were jumping anywhere from 30 to 200+. They would go down and back up causing a major computer slow down. I needed to format anyways so I did. But it came back. I was wondering if this could be a virus that I got from downloading off the network I'm using or what? Just seeing if anyone else has seen this. Also in my system32 there are thousands of files that shouldnt be there. It just looks like random typing as the name. I have a screen shot of the process and the system32 file. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Another thing that is strange is that when I log onto the network to access this computer I get all the random processes, but when another user logs on its perfectly fine? Could it possibly be a worm in files on the network?

Have you tried a full system scan with an up-to-date antivirus program? Or, if you don't have one installed, there are free online scans at Panda and Housecall.

If you know the system is clean of viruses, have you scanned for and removed all spyware? If not, scanning with both Spybot and Ad-Aware should find and be able to get rid of 99.9% of the spyware out there.

Finally, since neither AV or anti-spyware programs are always effective for indentifying or removing trojans, a good free online trojan scan is on Windowsecurity.com.
