Echoing Trouble

I'm having sound trouble. For some reason I'm getting an echo and it's really pissing me off. Does anyone know why it's doing this?

First of all you have not mentioned which sound card do you have. But generally echo is heard through speakers if in record input selection of the sound properties you have enabled and selected WAV input. It forms a loop and an echo is heard. WAV should only be selected in the playback option.
