Question Shut down woes

Okie dokie, I am new here and pretty new to computers. I have been almost everywhere looking for help and so far nothing. Please help guys! Okay, I have XP Home. I have been eaten alive by Trojan Horses lately but that isn't the problem. Or at least I don't think so. After I have been on my computer a while I notice that my screensavers start sticking or freezing. Sometimes all I get is a black screen and it takes forever to get me out of it. Also I have what is called Wallpaper Changer. It stops working. Also when I try to shut down a box pops up saying DDE Server is not responding. I click End Now and I can shut down fine. It is driving me crazy! I can restart and all is fine for about an hour and them boom! Oh please save me from pulling my hair out and running screaming into the night! Thank you.

Hi Raisin!!

Sounds a pretty convincing case for trojans to me...

Download and run these tools in safe mode. Turn off system restore so you are not backing up mal files ok. Run each program at a time.

Before I begin banging my head against the screen for the next 20 minutes, I thought I'd let ya know that I am having trouble with safe mode. Everythings cool till I get to my desktop and click on something and my mouse and keyboard suddenly stops working. My cursor disappears and I can't do anything but unplug it. Aaahhhhhh! It's haunted.
