Computer is turning on by itself

I'm seeing a really weird issue with my computer.
When I get up in the morning/ or come home from work my computer has turned itself ON. I've checked with family members and they are not useing my computer (1 of 3 in house).

Background.
Was infected with some spyware last week and Windows 98 SE2 was trashed. So, I loaded XP onto the computer. Now the computer turns itself on.

I no i'm not going crazy. No voices in my head yet!

Anyone have or heard of this issue?

Also the computer doesn't respond to keyboard strokes or the mouse. The monitor seems to be in like a power save mode.

So the computer is on but doesn't function. It has to be reset to get it to work.

Check Shutdown - Restart Option

Your computer can also go into a standby / check power management on the control panel and turn off hibernate

Hold the POwer button in for 6 seconds to ensure the power is off.
