Hi All,
New member here!
I upgraded my Dell 4100 WinME PC to WinXP Home Edition this past weekend. 20gb HD, 256mb RAM, 800mhz processor. Just realized last night that my Floppy Drive (A) isn't working. It worked fine just prior to the upgrade because I copied a couple of files from the HD to a floppy for DD a few minutes before beginning the upgrade.
The hardware device manager tells me that the Floppy Drive isn't
working due to a corrupted or missing driver. I've tried letting the Add Hardware Wizard detect the driver from the HD, and also from the WinXP CD. I've also tried letting it detect the driver from the original WinME and Dell driver CDs. All to no avail.
I've already searched the WinXP support site at Microsoft and Dell's support site for driver upgrades. Couldn't find an answer or a driver.
Short of a call to Dell, is there something else I can do?
TIA,
Teri G.
