Internet Connection Problems
I installed Windows XP Home Edition with SP1 on my computer, then upgraded to Windows XP Pro (the first edition, build 2600. I upgraded because I needed the extra hard drive support it offered on installation to recognize the new 80gb harddrive i installed). I've already had one connection problem, where I've had to edit the registry to delete a collection of keys to solve the problem (wouldn't let me create any new connections). Now that that's solved, I have another problem. First of all, my computer will randomly disconnect from my isp, and second of all, when I reconnect, it will not let me use any thing that has to do with the internet (for example, I open internet explorer, and it immediately goes to page cannot be displayed, without even trying to connect). No program works. When I try connecting with msn messenger 6.2, it says it is because I have Zonealarm Pro doing something, but it says the same thing even when I uninstall zonealarm pro v5.1.011. Can anybody help? Here's my system info:
