Wireless Network Problems

Hello all

I run windows XP on my desktop as well as a laptop i own. I recently purchased an ASUS wireless adapter (USB) for my desktop PC and a wireless Adapter (PCMCIA) for my laptop. I was made to believe that it would be a simple process to obtain an Ad Hoc (Peer - Peer) connection between the two. However, this has not been the case. I seem to be able to obtain a connection on my desktop by the laptop... It doesn't wanna know.

I've managed to install the hardware correctly but can't seem to configure it (partly because i don't know how to). I have an option of using the software supplied by ASUS or using windows software. I've been using the manufacturers software.

Have I just wasted my money on the hardware?

Could someone possibly help me out here bearing in mind that i am a novice at this kind of thing. A step by step guide or easy to understand web site would be a massive help.

I don't think you have wasted any money. You just need to know how to set it up.
