Hi everyone,
I'm just having a full day of headaches here...
I got my computer to load up with Windows and I installed all the drivers from Compaq that I had pre-downloaded and stored on another partition. I have run the Network Setup Wizard and the Internet Connection Setup Wizard that starts the first time you run IE (I know, I know, IE...).
Now I'm having troubles with my wireless connection.
I know the wireless network works because I'm typing this on my desktop which is working over wifi as well.
On my laptop, I can see the wireless network (SSID: MOO), and I can get an IP after I entered the WEP key that I have set. I can't connect to the internet in any form (Google, Windows Update, etc).
I have tried pinging various things and here's what I get
127.0.0.1: 4/4 recieved, all <1ms
Laptop: 4/4 received, all <1ms (ping the computer name)
192.168.1.1: 0/4, all timed out
192.168.1.6: 4/4, all <1ms (my IP address)
192.168.1.3: 0/4, all timed out
www.google.ca: cannot find
www.google.ca
Does anyone have any suggestions? This was working fine yesterday before I reinstalled Windows.
Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE!!! I disabled WEP and then reenabled it and all works now... wierd huh?
