Windows XP SP2 (Not for me)

Hi Guys,

Downloaded the SP2 last night (took about 50 minutes on a broadband connection).

I'm afraid to say that some of my applications have started to malfunction following the download.

My DigiTv application based on the Nebula PCI card refused to open. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the DigiTV software but the system would not let me do this as a message stated that the file was corrupt.

System start up following the download takes considerably longer.

Also having problems connecting to the internet via wireless router following download. To be fair I was having some intermittant connection problems prior to installation of SP2 but these now seem to be more frequent.

The verdict therefore on SP2 is that there are definitely some bugs that need ironed out.

I therefore carried out a system restore to a manually created checkpoint prior to the SP2 download.

I think I will bide my time until patches are available to fix these shortcomings.

In the meantime should I flag up these problems with the Windows website?

Regards.

Satfanni.

It would'nt hurt in doing so. Whether you will get a reply or not is a different matter. LOL

Have you tried going to the My DigiTV web site to see if there are any patches or driver updates you need to apply to install and run My DigiTV. Microsoft did say some apps might not run properly after SP2 install.

Good Luck.

Thanks for advice Kyliefann001.

I did however check for software and driver updates with the DigiTV site just prior to the SP2 download. These are completely up to date so I don't think that this is the problem. A fix of some sort is required in my opinion from Microsoft.
