Java Help

Hey all, new to these forums but I could really do with some sound advise.

Basically I am having trouble with my Java on my internet (running IE6). For a long period of time, everytime I loaded a java running applet or program I kept getting a box asking me to download components for the java virtual machine (image - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...creenshot1.jpg) for a long while I kept clicking 'download' which I sometimes had to do several times before the program loaded, however when I clicked download I also got a webpage from the microsoft website telling me it no longer supplied java machine capibiltity (all the legal stuff).

I tried to find help to stop this but couldn't anywhere. But a week ago, when this box came up and 'ticked' the box to not download these components. Now however, no java applets work, at all. This is all I see - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...creeenshot.jpg

So once you have got through reading my post, help would be most apperciated. Firstly help to get my java working again, secondly to stop this download box appearing.

Here are some things I've already tried so it can help you.

I have downloaded the LATEST java sun console (coffee cup in the taskbar) - nothing changed.

Ive run a full virus and adware etc scan - nothing.

I have unchecked and checked the boxes under 'microsoft vm' in internet options, i.e. tried loads of things - nothing.

Ed.

to play online games such as yahoo, msn, pogo,gamesville,.........and many more there are three things you will have to have.
1: flash player
2: shockwave player
both can be downloaded here
http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/

last you know already
3: java vm
http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp

usually if your internet settings are at default it will allow you to play online games at sites like yahoo. if you have installed sp2 for xp it has a pop up blocker which will either have to be disabled or set to allow some of these games to load. other third party pop up blockers have to be configured to allow the applet window as well. firewalls usually do not effect yahoo games. some game site require you install thier game software, but you should get a prompt from them. i noticed that kazaa was running, if you have dialup it could be using up all the bandwidth and not allowing the game to load do to timeouts.
