Windows xp startup

Hi,

it's just a simple question, every time I start wxp, it opens automatically the file explorer and dont want....
How can I solve the problem.

NOTE: It happened after the insatlation of SP2, before the pc was not opening the explorer file

See this thread *** How To remove Windows XP service Pack 2 From Your Computer*** from Jazz on 08-28-2004. This may be best as you had no problems before. Also Jazz has posted how to get SP2 on CD from Microsoft, i'ts free, I have ordered mine but don't plan to install for at least 6 months. I'll wait for Microsoft iron out all the bugs.

Here is a script that may fix the problem.
click on the link - my documents opens at logon

or manually edit the registry if you feel comfortable with doing so...

open regedit (if you've never opened regedit then skip this)
browse to

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]


assuming you installed windows into the default location, change the value for userinit too...
C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,

(the comma is intentional)
