If anyone could clue me in on how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it.
Here is the issue. I want to allow other people to not only use a computer, but also have the liberty to install any software they wish (especially printer drivers), so long as it does not interfere with System and Network settings, and I can protect certain applications from removal, such as Anti-Virus. What I have found is that most applications check explicity to see if the user is a member of the Administrators group before attempting the install. I cannot allow the users administrative rights for the reasons I state above.
Most pieces of advice I find are going the other way, trying to lock down the machine further. I want to give more freedom than a typical Power User member would have, but still protect the vital settings of the computer.
If anyone has any hints for me, clue me in please.
