Unusual Internet Explorer problem

I'm having a strange problem. I had to repair my Windows XP due to a failure and now when I use IE6 on certain websites I get a strange problem

If the website features a link that creates a new window, either for displaying a picture or making a post in a forum, it USED to be if I had that window open and clicked a different link it would open only one window for that site. Now everytime I click a link from that website it opens a new window.

Any ideas?

try this..

1. copy all the bold red text below and paste them in a text editor (like Notepad)..

• Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
  
  [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
  "AllowWindowReuse"=dword:00000001

2. save this file with any valid filename but with a '.reg' extension (like 'solveIEproblem.reg') in your My Documents folder..

3. close Notepad and double-click the .reg file u just created from My Documents, or you may right-click the file and choose Merge..

4. if prompted, just click Yes..

5. log out of Windows for changes to take effect..

thats it! hope that solves the problem..
