i can't update my windows xp computer

i have an illegal version of windows xp on my computer,
but i can't update him with windows update,
i tried much things, i even format my pc and re-installed windows.
but if i go to windows update, he is searching for updates and it just freezes at 0 %....
it is not because of SP1 cuz i did'nt downloaded it yet,
but i can still download the updates one by one if i go to windows update catalogus.

Can someone please help me ?

Number one.....You have a illegal copy of copywrited software and this is NOT SUPPORTED on this FORUM.

Starting with XP, Microsoft has built in controls for activation of this software to prevent using illegal copies. This blocks any download of any updates etc......

You can buy a LEGAL OEM copy of XP on newegg for under $100.

i am having trouble installing the windows xp sp2 because its saying that i dont have the right regesration key and i put in the same 1 as what i orrianally had can anyone help me?
