I have a few questions surroung Admin Tools features

Hi,

I want to restrict access to Adminstrative Tools for "Users". I am using a stand-alone computer, I am the admin and my parents, brothers, sisters are all "Users".

I have seen on a computer before where when Users double-click the Admin tools icon in the control panel, nothing happens. I don't know if I am able to implement this restriction on a single computer, as this was done on a network. If possible, please tell me how.

If not, is there any way to restrict access for "Users" to all the Admin Tools features, such as hiding them, or when they double click they get a message that they don't have access.
Hopefully you understand where I'm coming from.

Hope anyone can help

There is actually no need to lockout the Administrative tools, as long as everyone is logging in with a "Limited Account". They will not be able to make any changes to anything in Administrative tools. Log on to one of the "Limited Accounts" and try to make changes, you will not be able to. You can edit some programs (actually quit a few) in the Administrative tools thru the MMC. Type MMC at the "RUN" prompt, this will bring up the "Microsoft Management Console". Select "Group Policy Object" from your choices. Run on the "local computer" and then open up "Local Computer Policy". Be careful what you turn on, you can get yourself in trouble here. Make sure you write any changes you make down, so you can go back and fix them if they don't work they way you wanted.
