Spyware/Hijacking ????

Switched my system on this morning and clicked on my web brownser (Internet Explorer Ver 6.0.2800.1106.XPSP2.030422-1633)..................When I click on the browser icon there is a pause and then........I get this little dialogue box with the following written across the top: themutual.net Reward Tracker.
There is a box for an Email address to be entered and also a Password. What is this ?????????????? I have not changed my surfing habits......I have not changed my network security settings and yet ????????? this has appeared. I have run Adaware 6, Spyhunter and also gone into Control Panel, administrative tools, Services and disabled Messenger in there and yet, this "thingy" remains.......I am at a loss as to understanding (a) how it got there (b) how to get rid of it

Try running spybot S&D also http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

And Antivir http://www.free-av.com/ update it after installing it you might have a virus.
