Unable to Log into Windows

On my primary XP PC I just uploaded 3 priority updates
1. BITS KB883357
2. GDI +Detection Tool KB873374
3. .NET Framework SP3

Upon restarting I get to the Welcome page, click my user icon and type in my password. It loads my personnal preferences, shows my desktop for half a second then says it is logging off. It then remains on the Welcome page.

Re-attempts to log on or even to restart have the same result.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

OOPs. You'd better stick to only downloading 'critical' updates
in future. Downloading everything MS offers at you is asking for trouble.

You might try logging on as Administrator.

Hit "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" twice, this will bring up a log on screen. Type in Administrator, (or whatever you call your Administrator account if you changed the name), and the password.

See if this gets you logged on.
