Double Monitors Missing on Taskbar

XP Pro. I do not have the double monitors showing on the taskbar by the clock which should come on when I lgo on-line.
How do I get this icon?

go to start>connect to> click show all connections, now right click your connection and select properties. on the screen that comes up you should see a check box with "show icon in notification area when connected" put a check in the box and click ok.
