Norton Ghost restore problem
I used the normally reliable Norton Ghost and backed up a very nicely running version of my system using cds (it took 7 of them). The system became corrupted and I attempted to restore it. I started Ghost and inserted the first disc when asked for. It stated immediately that restore failed as a necessary file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield\Professional\Run Time\0701\Intel32\DotNetInstaller.exe cannot access a necessary file (entitled) "mscoree.dll".
When I went to the knowledge base at Symantic, they said that I could have Windoctor ignore this missing file and not to be concerned about it. Unfortunately, Ghost gives me no opportunity to "ignore" this file. I searched and found the file, but I have found no way to adjunct it to the DotNet Installer.exe which deems it as missing.
Any suggestions? I don't want to go back to the default installation of my laptop.
