XP screensaver

I'm having an interesting problem that I can't correct. I'm running XP Pro SP-1, and have screensaver problems. If I set my screensaver to 1 minute, it comes on in about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. If I set it for 2 minutes or longer, it never comes on. Thanks in advance for your help.

interesting, usually these types of problems are caused by a keyboard key sticking, mouse being moved slightly by a vibration on the surface it is on, caused by fans, computer towers sitting on the same surface, other items you may have close that have moving parts.
if it is not any of these factors is the screen saver that you are using on of xp's or one you downloaded or got somewhere else?
