copy and paste not working

Hi,
when I try to copy and paste, I get a bunch of jibberish that I can't figure out. I tried shutting down and restarting my computer, but my copy feature refuses to copy. I keep getting the same jibberish but not what I tried to copy.

Any suggestions? thanks. johnl42

What program are you trying to copy from and paste into or does this happen no matter where you copy from or paste to?

It might be something as simple as change the font in the program you're pasting into.

I was trying to copy part of an email that I received. I also tried t copy a few email addresses to save typing them in. In other words, I am trying to do the most basic kind of copy and pasting.

Here is what comes out:

I can't seem to get this out of the copy mode for what ever reason. I am not even sure what it's about.
