Memory and Hard Drive Space

Have XP Pro SP2 with Audigy Soundcard. When recording at 96,000 khz 24 bit, can only record for an hour before it says not enough disk space or memory. Have 170GB free on hard drive and 2GB Memory. Is there a work around for this?

Same thing happens with Epson 4870 Scanner when anything above 1600dpi is selected. The Epson read me file says to allocate more memory to Smart Panel but does not say how this is done.

Check the size of your page file

Right click 'my computer and click on properties.
Click on the 'advanced' tab, then click on performance settings.

Then click on advanced and check the amount of 'virtual memory' down the bottom.

As you've got 2 gig of RAM you should set it to about 1024.

Thank you. Went there and it says Custom size, initial size 2046 (MB) Maximum size 4096 (MB). Below that it says Total paging file size for all drives Minimum allowed 2MB Recommended 3069MB Currently allocated 2046MB. Would you change anything?

Nah you've got plenty of Vritual memory.
Thats's not the problem.

I'm not sure what the problem could be.
