Internet problems + logon problems + ...

Hi Folks,

I have quite a bunch of problems. Let me explain from the start.

I recently installed Win XP with SP1A on E Drive, and had Win 98 on the C Drive.
Problem # 1
Everything was fine until when i connect to the internet, there is continously some data being uploaded / data transfer from my PC into the internet, even when iam not browsing anything. I think this is due to some worm / trojan issue.

Problem #2
Everytime i boot into XP, the computer turns off after i get the Welcome Screen. I have to start it again, next time it runs scan disk and boots properly, sometimes it takes 3 reboots to logon properly.

Problem #3
Since i had problem #1 i decided to logon to Win 98 and surf the internet to find out what the problem is, but alas, Win 98 to had some serious problems,so i boot with a floppy, format C: and install Win 98 again in C:. Now the problem is iam not getting the boot screen where i get to chose which OS to load, it automatically boots into Win 98.

Folks, can you help me with the 3 problems i have, i will be very much thankful if you do so.

You need to restore the nt boot loader:

sounds like you got a virus or trojan
try one of these AV...nod32, kaspersky, panda
also, try a spyware detector like pestpatrol
