Toshiba Satellite 2545XCDT

I work for a small non-profit. We're considering upgrading to Windows XP from Windows 98SE on our Toshiba Satellite 2545XCDT laptop. The Toshiba site provides info on doing this upgrade for many of its laptops but not the 2545XCDT. Has anyone done this upgrade? Would you recomment it? What problems should we expect? What should be done prior to doing the OS upgrade? Thanks for any help.

For smooth performance, XP needs a minimum 1GHz processor and 256 MB RAM.

If purchasing upgrade versions of xp, do not leave earlier version installed. Upgrading currently installed version is messy and will lead to various problems including decreased stability. Format to remove earlier version, boot with XP CD, insert Win 98 CD when requested (only for checking purposes) then put XP CD back in and continue to install it.

Thanks, pip22. Since the 2545XCDT can't accommodate the minimum memory requirement, I guess we'd best take a pass on upgrading to XP.
