internet connection sharing

I set up internet connection sharing with two machines (XP is the host and Linux is the client). it worked fine for a couple weeks but now it's stopped working and the error that I get when I try to enable sharing on the XP box is that "internet connection sharing cannot be enabled"

From reading various websites it seems that 192.168.0.1 should be the IP address of the host for internet connection sharing to work but mine is 192.168.0.3. my DNS server and gateway are both set to 192.168.0.1 according to
ipconfig /all

how do i change the addresses of my dns server and gateway in windows? thanks!
