Lightbulb Password problem with XP Professional

I have a laptop and two computers connected with a Linksys DSL 4 port router. The laptop computer is the only one that I have a password on. I can access Computer B's files from my computer and vice versa but i can't access the files on the laptop from either computer A or B. When i try to access the laptop's drive a screen comes up and asks me for a password. I enter the password for the laptop, but it tells me its invalid. If I go to the laptop and type in the same password, it will work. I can access the files from computer A and B from the laptop. Now, I did upgrad the laptop from NT, that could have somthing to do with it. I'm not going to take the password off the laptop because it is a company laptop. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

There is an awsome Password finder for stored passwords which was shown on Techtv. search there site i know its a free download and is on there site somewhere. i have the name on my computer but am not on it right now. will get back from home to list the exact file and location in a few hours. hopefully youll find it before then though.

Arrow I found it

No i wasn't using a password finder and i didn't see one on TechTV's site. i think i found the problem was that I upgraded from NT and I couldn't log in as Administrator. i fixed the problem by reinstalling windows and that let me create an Administrator password. Thanks for your help.

yeah, i never do a upgrade when dealing with my computers. The only reason that I did on that laptop is because it was company issued for my dad. I did a fresh install earlier today, so everything should be fine, but you are correct, upgrading causes serious problems.

I wish I would have know he wasn't going to use for work, I would reformatted it from the start (as well as other cool things). I do regret installing XP on there though because its only 700mhz and it runs kind of slow, i think 2000 would be perfect for that laptop. It actually gave him a choice between NT 4.0 and 2000 i think. Whatever the case, he was using NT 40 and all the cool features like DVD and stuff would not work with NT. Da well.
