Angry Windows can't find my monitor!

A couple days ago I reinstalled my WinXP, and my apparently my video drivers somehow disappeared, so now I have 60 Hz refresh rate, which is too low.
I tried to change it, went to Control Panel->Display->Settings->Advanced->Monitor. It shows Default Monitor and Properties button is unavailable. When i go to Adapter tab->Properties->Driver it shows VgaSave and there is no way to change it!

I have ViewSonic monitor and i downloaded a driver for it, and it's manual says
Quote:
On the Device Manager screen, click "+" (preceding Monitors).

3. Right-click Default Monitor (or Plug and Play Monitor) and select Update Driver. The Hardware Update Wizard menu will display.

4. On the Hardware Update Wizard menu, select "Install from a list or specific location" and click Next.

5. Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click Next. The Hardware Update Wizard menu will display.

6. On the Hardware Update Wizard menu, click Have Disk, type "c:\viewsonic" (where "c" is the boot drive), and click OK.

But how the hell am i suppose to do it, when i don't even have "Monitors" tab in device manager list, so there is no Update Driver option!

The problem, as you know, is that some drivers need to be installed. XP does not have all the drivers for all your hardware so you will have to get them elsewhere.

Did you computer come come with a CD containing the drivers for the hardware? Forx example, Dell computers comes with a "Resource" CD which is separate from the operating system CD and contains the drivers you need to reinstall after the operating system has been installed.

If there is no single driver CD, are there separate CDs or floppies with drivers for the sound card (which is the "multimedia audio controller") and monitor that came with the computer?

Finally i solved it, i found the latest drivers for my Intel Chipset on download.com. The funny thing is that the drivers on the manufacturer's site were too old and didn't work. So props to download.com

It seems, that it's not so simple. Yes I installed latest Intel Chipset drivers from this page - http://support.intel.com/support/chi...CS-009236.htm,
Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility, and Intel Application Accelerator. The refresh rate is now ok and 100 Hz and Device Manager shows display adapter and monitor correctly.
But I realized that the quality of video became worse, I see small squares and more noise in video like in low quality JPEG-pictures, which didn't happen before I reinstalled Windows. Why It is so?
