Is their a way to make a bootable recovery?

You know those recovery CD's or images that come with an out of the box PC.... Is their a way to create a bootable CD or DVD that will load a snapshot of your current PC setup?

I know their is Ghost, but you have to boot ghost then restore your image from there. I'm wondering if you can make a bootable image that does it all for you.

i use drive image by power quest, the cd(s) it make will boot the system, format and reinstall the image you made just like the ones that come with a new pc. i make these sets for all the computers i build so that the user can recover and have all the drivers, programs and settings without having to bring it to me or anyone else. norton ghost is ok, but drive image(atleast version7) is much easier to restore with.
