MS Exchange Display Problems

My employer uses Outlook 2000 and has recently made Exchange available for remote connection to our email accounts.

I recently bought a new computer with Windows XP (Home) installed. Two display problems occur with Exchange:

1) No color change indicates selection when I select a message or other object. I can tell a message is selected only if I have the preview panel open.

2) If I open a shortcut menu by a right-click (on a folder, for example), or a drop-drown menu, the menu is transparent, and whatever is underneath on the screen shows through, making it hard to read the menu items. Neither problem is fatal, but they are both extremely irritating.

I have changed display settings in Internet Explorer (6.0) and in Windows display properties with no improvement.

My computer is a Dell 8200. No other programs seem to cause display problems.

Thank you in advance for any light (so to speak) that anyone can shed on this problem and how to solve it.

Thank you for your reply.

I have already installed SP1 for Windows XP. It has not helped.
