Here's the most common problem: Cookies. you probably know what they are, but if you don't have the settings at medium-highe or lower, msn can't log in. Go to internet explorer's properties and click on the privacy tab to make sure. I know because I use msn right now and it's not a safe browser compared to the other ones out there right now either, but that's another story. Another problem is outdated software. Make sure your version is 9.0 (that's the latest version).

Thanks for that advice. The security settings make no difference in my case

The problem now is that when i try and log in it says that either my password is wrong or my screen name doesn't exist - which is odd because it has existed for over a year now. in the help section of the sign in screen - it gives some advice and links to the official site but when i get to the official site most of the links there bring up "page not found" pages which doesn't help

thanks.
