Start-Up Messages

When I boot up my computer, I get a message that says OE6 is no longer on my computer, and it asks whether I want to "clean up my settings." I click "no," because I'm scared to death of what would happen if I clicked "yes."

Any suggestions for a remedy?

Also, every time I start my computer, I get a messsage that says my fax is installing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, triplate. My problems are solved.

I had posted a question on another board this week, regarding a problem with my OE. . I got a reply, telling me to edit my registry, complete with instructions. Which I did.

This morning when I started my computer, I got the message about not having OE on my computer. I went back to that board and posted the new problem. Tonight I got a reply, and I followed those instructions. They took care of the OE message.

Earlier this evening, I was looking in all the folders of my control panel, and while in printers and faxes, I figured out that I should uncheck the option to receive faxes on my computer (since I have a regular fax machine). I rebooted, and sure enough, I don't get either message on startup now. Yippee!!

Thanks again!
