XP Taskbar Calendar Mystery

I am running Windows XP Home version. I installed SP2 when it first became available. Somehow I have managed to reset the calendar in the Taskbar so that it is diplaying time date and day. It takes three lines and forces my taskbar to be wider than I would like. I don't remember changing anything and I cannot figure out how to get it back to where it just displays time.

Ideas?

Hi flhpi54

Try this, first right click on an empty spot on the Task bar
and make sure " Lock the Taskbar" is unchecked.

Now take your mouse pointer and hover it over the top edge of the Taskbar border,
when you get the double up and down arrows hold down the left mouse button
and drag the border down.

Tried all that first. That was my first thought, that I had just dragged the taskbar a little wider. It is two rows wide. The calendar showing the day and date is the only thing I can think of that might be keeping me from just dragging it back to the size I want it.

I thought it may be sometyhing in your regional settings - control panel>regional and language settings.

Althought I just had a gander and I couldn't see anything about displaying the date aswell as the time, only the option to add AM and PM to the time.

But you did say you had SP2 so you may want to check these options to see if you can change anything in there.

If not check to see whether or not you have installed something that's doing it.

I figured out what the problem was. I had expanded the seperator bar that is between the quick start icons and the open programs. Unless you putyour cursor back on the seperator and drag the tasknbar back to its original size nothing will happen, you get frustrated and then post a silly question on a forum. Thanks for all the suggestions.
