XP Home Task Manager problem- Blank process page

Hi,
Recently, when trying to view the Process tab of Task Manager, i'm greeted with this charming little blank page:

Normally, I wouldn't really mind, but as you can see i seem to have an overly high number of process running, and i need to see whats going on.

Ive tried a couple of Anti-virus programs (Norton + a couple of free online ones) but they didn't seem to help..

Any suggestions would be welcome, mainly due to sheer curiocity...

Apart from a Repair Installation and checking for spyware, etcetera, all I can think of is resetting the Task Manager settings. Don't forget to backup your registry first!!
