CD/DVD Drives Disappeared

Dear XP ert

I repaired my Windows XP with the setup utility on the CD.

Now my CD/DVD drives are not recognized by the operating system.

I have no idea why. I have repaired it twice. I have alcohol 120 software on my comp could it be the cause?

Any suggestions?

Are they really not there, or do they not show when nothing's in them. I have a SD removable storage device, and when it's not got my SD card in it, it hides the drive.
