100% CPU usage when copying from CD-Rom to HDD

OK here is my system setup:

MSI K8T FSR
512mb PC3200 Samsung Ram
Lite-on SOHW-1633
ATI RADEON 9800 PRO
Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm hdd
windows xp sp1

then problem is that when i copy a avi from a cd to the hard drive, my cpu usage jumps to 100%, causing winamp to lag, slow down the music playing as well as any other windows sounds. i didnt have this problem earlier, but after setting up my tv and watching a movie, i cant do more than a couple things while copying now.. i have no idea why this could be happening, and im hoping for some help. the same problem happening when ripping a cd.. but the thing i dont understand is that only a few hours ago i didnt have this problem

You proably got a virus or spyware, which is why it started all of a sudden.
