Welcome to the forum Humpy .

When did the problem start?
Have you installed any new hardware/ software recently?

Can you give us the exact error report that you receive.

Have you done full spyware/virus and trojan scans. If not then i would run Ad-aware, Spybot S+D, AVG anti virus. If you do not have these programs you can get them from www.majorgeeks.com or www.download.com .

Try running sfc /scannow (note the space) from the run box. You will need your xp disk.

You could also try doing a system restore back to a time when explorer was working ok.

Keep us informed of your progress .

Your still having the same problem, even after reinstalling! .

Did you do a clean install?.

If you did then i would start to suspect a hardware problem. Possibly a memory problem?.

Has your pc taken any knocks lately?.
Maybe it would be prudent to run a memory check.
