Windows Xp Pro installation problems

I have a serious problem. Each time I try to install windows xp from my original cd, the installation can't copy certain files from the cd even if they are in it! Also I try with my friend original cd and it does the same thing. So I decide to skip those file and during the installation process it says that some files are missing too, I browse the cd and find the files but the installation don't want to continue...
Somebody help please!
